It might be a blogging faux pas but I’m re-printing this in it’s entirety from the Fresh Tea Daily blog.
Every day I look into the faces of people who have lost thousands, tens of thousands, and hundreds of thousands of dollars. I have had people cry at my desk, seniors frightened their retirement savings won’t last, and people on the verge of retiring now planning on working until they are 70. I have seen young people stopping their contributions into their 401ks and their IRAs, young adults who will become the lost generation of investors if we are not careful.
Some people claim the economy is not Obama’s fault. Obviously, he didn’t cause it, but he has contributed to it with a lack of clarity in regards to the direction of this country. Instead he has sold the American people a bill of goods and an expensive one at that.
Is anyone listening?
Does anyone care?
Last weekend I experienced a horrendous depression. I felt powerless with no place to turn. I believe in personal responsibility and it is not my fault people lied on their loans to live in homes they couldn’t afford. Don’t TELL me it is the loan officer’s fault. It is YOUR fault if you choose to lie. For heaven’s sake what has happened to reality?
I am watching my son, a great young man with a powerful heart and a strong vision, lose his second home NOT because he is one of the “investor class” but because he had a dream, became a real estate agent, and believed in his country. He worked hard and his father and I are proud of him, NOT because he was successful, but because he is dealing with his loss with dignity and pride. He never lied, he followed the American dream and was let down by foreseeable crash that no one saw.
And the words of Rahm Emanuel, “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”
